State Your Case in Ruffles, Tulle and Lace

Hello lovelies!

Have you tried something that is totally out of your comfort zone, but you find so pretty that you decide to take a leap of faith and place that order? I love form-fitting dresses and skirts–my go to dresses are sheath and skirt, yes, you guessed it–pencil! However, I recently partnered with VIP.com and discovered the most beautiful, A-line, black paneled sweet skirt. This skirt captured my attention with its enchanting details.

The three panels design is genius and give this piece so much visual interest! Let’s deconstruct each one and see what it adds to the charm of such a lovely skirt:

• The top-most layer is pleated, and we all know pleated skirts have been right on trend since spring and going strong onto fall! Not only that, but it it pleated tulle, which allows the next texture to shine trough.
• The middle layer is of gorgeous lace which is just about as long as the pleated tulle and shows off beautifully as you move.
• The third and solid layer is a bit shorter to allow the light to go trough the tulle and hit the lace layer, while giving you enough length to make this skirt an elegant and classy piece fit for a night at the theater or a day in the office!

I partnered this skirt with a feminine yellow ruffle blouse. It caught my eye with a tough of Victorian charm, ruffled front detail, beautiful pearl-like buttons, and it’s gentle floral pattern combining greens, whites, blues, and burgundies on a lovely mustard-hued background, which allows the pattern to speak in their fall tones. The blouse also screamed to me: “I will be the perfect partner to your new pleated skirt!” I could not agree more and ordered both with a vision of an outfit coming together as one classy and feminine look that carries so many of my favorite details, subtle enough not to overpower one another!
