How was your weekend? Are you now of the belief that it is January 2018? I am finally getting used to the idea – ten days later! 🙂
Today I want to show you my favorite preppy look, whose main act is the SHEIN Bow Tie Neck Frayed Trim Tweed Dress. I have been eyeing this piece since the summer and finally managed to get my hands on it while it was in stock–yay! You may ask, but how would a summer dress work at this time of the year?! Fear not, for I have the solution!! Since the dress is a light cream color, but has a pop of black in its tie neck portion pairing it with black leggings, a black undershirt, and black suede over-the-knee boots bring it to winter season in a heartbeat. Should the day be cool just throw a black, white, red or better yet, a coat combining these colors, and voila – you’ll look like you just walked out of Princeton’s campus in style.
Besides the bow tie neck, which by now I am sure you know I am a fan of, I love the frayed trim of this dress. It helps create a fun separation detail between the fitted top and the A-line bottom of the dress and highlights it’s edges for an added oomph. It is 100% cotton which would make it perfect for any season really… and priced at only $24 for an additional comfort to your pocket–hehe. 😉 My only warning is that you may have to use a lint roller as the dress sheds some threads in the beginning – hoping those would go away once it is washed.
What do you think–would you be preppy this winter? What piece would you use to achieve that look?
