Hope your week has been good! Did you purchase anything on Cyber Monday? I was very good during Black Friday, but did treat myself to a new camera lens and a few airline tickets on Monday!
Somehow the holidays got me thinking about wearing red, white, and blue and I decided to try to incorporate these color in fall outfit perfect for the office. This look is brought to you via my collaboration with VIPSHOP (clothing) and DealOKart(watch).
It actually all started with the top. The bib detail is so intricate and reminded me of a very delicate cami I had once purchased while on a trip to Australia. I also liked the blue embroidery as it added a fun touch to a classy, work-appropriate shirt. Of course this beauty needed a partner, so I went hunting for a skirt. Being the lace fan that I am, I gravitated to this A-line navy midi skirt pretty much as soon as I saw it! The length, the zig-zag hem, and beautiful detailing of the fabric complement the elegant lines of the shirt to create a chic, sophisticated overall silhouette. Then came the accessories–I pondered upon white shoes and bag or their navy counterparts, but settled on burgundy to add yet another color to the outfit. BTW, you can receive $5 OFF your VIPSHOP orders over $50, with code “Marieta756” at https://us.vip.com/.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I wear watches all the time–ever since I received one in first grade, hehe! I had seen this watch on a friend’s Instagram page and though it has tons of minimalist charm, so when DealOKart reached out to me I was happy to order the white on white version of this timepiece. Doesn’t it combine European simplicity and Asian Modern Art to create a cool design?! It also works in such a fun way–the dot depicts the hour hand and the line is the minute hand. Last, but not least, it would not break the bank–it is only $8.99 at the moment! To receive 15% discount to all your DealOKart purchase please use code “OOTD15“.

Hope you enjoyed this look and are inspired to try something new for the office in the coming week!
Hello ladies and gents,
I hope your holiday weekend was all you were hoping for! Were you able to do any shopping? Are you set with all your presents? We managed to do quite a bit of traveling which is a favorite with everyone in our clan and much needed after that awesomely BIG Thanksgiving dinner!! 😉
Last week, we had a major heat wave here in LA, however as the cool temperatures make our air crisp, I am beginning to pull more and more of my winter favorites and this Batwing Sleeve Self Tie Knit Dress by Romwe is no exception. Sweater weather is FUN and I sure enjoyed it even more when I could go out in a dress! This knit number is so versatile! The cream color allows you to combine the dress with tons of different accessories. For my look, I chose black over-the-knee boots and a black bag, but could have easily opted out for a brown version of those or even the oh-so-in-and-currently-hot red or white accessories! But the versatility of my knit beauty does not stop here… Its neckline could be worn three different ways: off-the-shoulder, one-shoulder, or, on a cooler day or at the office, as a simple cow neck. The dress also comes with a belt which you can add for waist definition or leave off to achieve a minimalist look. And I cannot pull any versatile tricks off the batwing sleeves, but I sure think those look cool, don’t you?
Have you gotten your knit dress this season? If you are in the market for one and want to spend around $30, check Romwe‘s selection here. This cream option is also adorable, and so is this khaki knit dress. BTW, my dress is also available in grey and is only $22.99!

Have a successful week, lovelies!
I am hoping that your week is going fab! On Monday I promised to show you what I wore to my friend’s baby shower and I am very excited to bring you this look as it could work for both welcoming a baby boy or a baby girl–if you desire to be in sync with the gender for the celebration that is, hehe!
You know I am a huge lace fan, right?! It is such a classy and feminine fabric, so naturally I went for this Round Neck Flare Sleeve Lace Dress by ZAFUL. And guess what? It comes in both blush and light blue–see I told you it would work for either celebrating a boy or a girl’s arrival into this world! This dress is very sweet–the color, the fabric, the bell sleeves, they all come together and leave a butch of visual cuteness in one’s mind. I decided to infuse just a tad bit of edge by adding a wide belt, these two-tones pumps and a white blazer.
I bet you guessed it right, my friend is having a girl and I could not be more excited to have one more little princess join our group–GIRL POWER! It got me to thinking how precious the months of pregnancy are, how exciting and how emotional, how rewarding it is to finally meet your little baby, and how sweet it is to cuddle them all day long, even when you had no sleep the night before–you know what I am talking about mamas! Hehe! What has been your sweet moment this week?
P.S. The ZAFUL double 11 sale is going on right now. Check it out as you are sure to find some cool presents for the upcoming holidays!

I hope you all have an amazing Halloween celebration and that if you are taking your little ones out to “Trick or Treat!” that their joy is contagious and puts a huge smile on your faces as well!
I have been thinking about Fall fashion and the fact that I do not want to give up pretty colors because summer is over. One of those colors dear to my heart it blush–it is so soft and feminine and could work perfectly with a light fall color palette of creams and beiges, as well as soft grays!
Today I am showing you a look that combined all blush with some cream and denim. This dress from VIP.com is the main act and outfit inspiration. I could not help, but fall in love with the soft lines it forms and that beautiful pear detail along the sleeves and on the belt. Don’t you think it is darling? Once I received the dress I could also appreciate how soft and comfy it is (I am not a huge fan of pretty clothing that is torturous to wear!).
To continue the color theme I paired the dress with blush velvet flats. I also loved how the elegance of the point toe added to the sophistication of the dress. Since I want to wear this dress now and for the next few months, and believe it or not, it gets cold in the morning and evening even in LA, I added a denim blazer. I chose a blazer vs a regular jean jacket as I wanted to stay in the slightly more elegant realm. To finish the outfit off I added some pretty jewels, a cream bag and some sunnies.

Are you thinking of preserving some of the summer colors into your fall wardrobe? What are some of your favorites?
Fall is in full swing and so are outfits in earthy tones and soft, cozy textures appropriate for the cooler weather this season brings. The materials I am most excited about are leather and suede–both bring so much edge to an outfit, whether they are the real deal or its faux alternatives (great for those of us who care about animals or don’t want to pay high prices).
This week I present to you my suede dream from Earth Tone Land! It is a combination of caramels, browns, beiges all topped off with a bunch of olive–the embodiment of ease to the eye and comfort to the skin! 🙂 Suede, whether real or faux, feels super soft against your body and is a pleasure to wear. That goes for both my skirt and bomber–the main components of this outfit. I choose a sheer ruffle top to bring out the femininity of the skirt and bridge it with the sportier feel of the jacket. The snakeskin pumps add some edge while complementing the color scheme of the outfit, and so does this leather-embroidered brown bag!

Are you a fan of leather and suede? Do you prefer their alternatives? How about earthy colors? Would you be wearing those for Fall?
Happy October! Pumpkins are now front and center in all stores, houses are decorated with those and the smell of pumpkin spice lattes is sure to catch your nose everywhere you go–still cannot believe how fast September few by! You?
This week I have partnered with ROMWE to bring you the perfect Fall shirt! It really has got it all: vertical stripes, embroidery, ruffles, a Victorian collar and an overall style that is suitable to take to work or run errands in during the weekend!
Let’s talk about each feature:
- Vertical stripes were BIG in the 80’s and have made a major comeback the past couple of seasons. The ones on this shirt are a smaller size which give it an office-appropriate feel I like, as I have to dress up for work Monday trough Friday.
- Embroidery is another trend that has been going strong for the past coupe of seasons. We have seen embroidery on jeans, tops, jackets, and now even booties. The flower embroidery on this shirt is very appropriate for Fall as the colors are in beautiful earthy tones.
- There is a ruffle that runs from the front middle of the shirt all around trough its back, adding yet another feminine touch to this pretty shirt!
- Should you decide to button up this ROMWE shirt, you would display the Victorian collar, which has an additional ruffle further enhancing the girlishness of this piece.
To achieve this office-appropriate look, I decided to pair the shirt with a pencil denim skirt, golden open-toe pumps and a blue and gold Chanel bag. This shirt would look amazing with some high-rise dark wash, red or white jeans and a pair of booties–looks I am sure I will share with you later on this season.
Have you checked out the trendy, chic, and affordable items ROMWE has to offer? If not can do so here. 🙂

Has has your week been thus far? Mine has been a bit nutty… Let’s just say, I am looking forward to the weekend, hehe! 🙂
I was not planning on writing a post today, but putting on this gingham midi dress (VIP.com) in the morning really inspired me. So what is a girl to do but grab her mom away from babysitting duties and ask her to jump into her photographer shoes!
As I was going trough my closet I needed to find something that would work for a day in the office and would transition well to a dinner with a friend I am meeting after. And there is was–my vintage charmer! Why do I say VINTAGE? The dress is brand new but gives me a very 20’s-50’s feel–the shape, the length, the print.
- The Shape – As a matter of fact the term A-line was first introduced by Christian Dior as the label for his spring 1955 collection. The silhouette, as we know it today, was popularized by Yves Saint Laurent three years later. In his spring 1958 line, he showed off dresses which flared out vividly from a fitted shoulder line.
- The Print – Gingham as a checkered pattern originated from the mills of Manchester, England where fabric was woven in a plaid pattern sometime during the 18th sentry.
- The Length – The midi first came on the scene in the 1920’s after WWI was over and before the Great Depression hit. The economy was doing well, the world was out dancing, and ladies replaced their modest Victorian floor-length garments with midi dresses and skirts.
Enough history for now… A bit more of what I like about this dress… The panel detail brings a lot of visual interest, and so does the delicate ruffle around the solid sweetheart portion of the neckline, which continues up into a mesh section around the shoulders and neck. The mesh detailing is also repeated around the high waistline, which creates a nice bodes-like top. The pleats under the waist line add volume and make me want to twirl all day long… I can go on and on…

This week, I have partnered with ZAFUL to bring you two perfect looks involving none other than the printed wrap dress itself! Wrap dresses peaked in popularity in the mid to late 70’s, and then in the late 90’s.. but have remained a strong female closet staple into the 2010’s.
Look 1: Have to wear a wrap dress to work
ZAFUL has such a cute arsenal of dresses, but for this look I pickled a beautiful Green Slit Beach Printed Wrap Dress. It hits right at the knee, has a sleeve and an asymmetrical front to back line giving it an extra oomph and making it very work-appropriate. Although it is very subtle, the black trim detail on the sleeve gave me the inspiration for accessorizing this look–black pumps, black suede cross-body bag, and black frame, oversized sunglasses. The little cream leaf print could also serve as an accessory color, giving you more options to play with.
The dress is very comfy as it is made from a cotton-polyester blend that would keep you comfy all day long. I am wearing a size Small and it is true to size. To transition this dress into fall and keep it office smart, add a structured blazer and voila!
Look 2: How to turn your wrap dress into a boho piece
For my boho inspired look I selected the Checked Ruffles Wrap Casual Dress. The cut of this piece appealed to me right away–these is something about a dress that is longer and well-fitted enough to make you feel sexy while not being over-exposed… And this dress does exactly that!
The gingham pattern gives it an every-day vibe and the sleeve trim detailing adds extra flavor. To achieve a boho feel I added a panama hat, a pair of black pumps, and a coral handbag for a bit of color. This dress is also made from a poly-cotton blend making it soft and gentle to your skin. On cooler days, I can see myself wearing this dress with a black leather moto jacket and a pair of booties. Side note: I generally wear a size Small, but ordered a Medium after reading the reviews, and I too would suggest going up a size for your order.
If you like ZAFUL or have never shopper there before, check them out and use surprise code: ZFEN for a discount off your order! 🙂
Are you a fan of wrap dresses? How do you wear yours?
Can you believe it is already September? This year is flying by so fast and before we know it Fall will be here! Despite the recent California heat wave, I have started prepping my wardrobe for the change of seasons and have lined up items to introduce you to.
For this week’s transitional look, I have partnered with VIP.com to present to you this sweet, A-line, yellow floral dress. Doesn’t it ooze feminine charm?! It captured my attention with it’s gentle floral pattern combining pinks, whites and greens on a lovely mustard-hued background, which allows the pattern to speak in their soft tones. The cut of the dress along with the ruffled, bow-tie sleeves only add to the ladylike character of this dress.
So what is it that makes this dress so suitable for the next few month:
- The mustard yellow color reminds me of the leaves changing color;
- The dress is lined and perfect for cooler days;
- It hits below the knee, which would make it suitable for early Fall days;
- This floral beauty would partner well with a denim or leather jacket.
I decided to pair my new VIP.com find with lace up sandals, round glasses, black panama hat and black leather bag to give it some boho flavor as I was going to brunch in an edgy neighborhood where most people wear interesting statement pieces! I see this dress as a versatile piece as I would switch out the lace-up sandals with black kitten heels and wear it to the office.
