How did April manage to sneak up on us?!? But I am super excited for warmer weather and longer days full of sunshine. We have had so much rain this year and are beating all LA precipitation records while staying in low temperature ranges, so I am ready for the sun to make its more permanent appearance.
Speaking of spring vibes this Bow Detail Tweed Tunic Dress from SHEIN is totally speaking my language and helping me welcome the spring in a classic yet fresh style. And yes here is where this post’s title comes into play–boys spruce up their suit pockets by adding a pocket square, but guess what? Us girls can have our own twist on that brilliant idea and use a set of bows to dress up our pockets!! Doesn’t this dress do so in the most subtle, yet noticeable way? By adding the black bow to the top of the pockets and black hemming the sleeves and neckline as well, this simple white dress turns into a feminine yet edgy piece which speaks volumes with simple black and white statements.
Just a few more details on this tunic dress that I love: it is made out of a tweed material which is 80% cotton–the perfect fabric for spring–breathable, yet warm. It is versatile due to its tunic type which allows you to wear it with some leggings on a cooler day. Another aspect that makes this tweed dress very wearable is the simplicity of colors which allow you to pretty much play with any color and pattern accessories. It is elegant and perfect for a day at the office or a date night with your sweetheart. Did I mention that it is only $24?! However if you use code Q2ootdinstyle for 15% off your SHEIN purchase and decrease that price.
It may not be super apparent from the outfits I wear, but I am a huge sucker for light colors–whites, creams, light beiges, light blushes–and the combinations of those all. I also do not like to conform to the rule of “NO WHITE after Labor Day!” To me texture and the combination of materials make a given outfit more fitting for a season than it’s color. Of course that is not true of every color, but I cannot even think of one I would not wear during a particular season–well, maybe watermelon in January would be a miss. Hehe! 😛
Speaking of creams, I have found yet another perfect transition-into-fall dress. Meet the SHEIN Button Detail Raw Edge Tweed Dress. She has summer charm as she is pinafore, but that also makes her the perfect piece to layer–just add a slim shirt underneath, a set of leggings, your favorite over-the-knee boots and you are all set for a cooler October/November day. Her cream color and golden button accents make her shine on a sunny warm day and would sure be a ray of light on a moodier fall one. Being made from 100% cotton makes the Button Detail Raw Edge Tweed Dress comfortable for any weather conditions. Tweed is also very fall so that makes the dress bridge the two seasons perfectly! The raw hem and splits also add visual interest welcomed any time of the year. 🙂
Do you like wearing dresses in all seasons? If so here are some options for you to explore! 😉
Hope your week has been going well. Mine is a tad bit crazy at work–longer hours, so this girl is feeling a slightly tired. However, I did not want to miss the opportunity to share with you my latest cute find – the SHEIN Fringe Detail Tweed Overall Dress!
Tweed is a great fabric for winter, however this dress is so light that is would definitely make appearance in my spring outfits. I would wear it even during the summer, but I have to admit that it is a bit too short for me to feel comfortable wearing this cutie unless I am layering it over some leggings. I gravitated to this unique number, because it has the funnest black and white print that could pretty much fit anything and everything in your wardrobe. It looks amazing with a black top, but would also pear beautifully with a red or yellow one, even some black and white stripes would go hand in hand with this overall dress. I was also drawn to this tweed dress by its fringe details, which appear not just at the bottom and top hem, but also around the waist and pockets. Another charm of the dress is that you can wear the front in the back as vise versa–it makes sense in either direction! 😀 Oh, and did I mention it is under $15?!?
