How was your weekend? Did you greet St. Patrick in green? I feel like I am excused from this tradition as I happen to have entered the world on the same day, so birthday attire is allowed even if not in green! Hehe!
So this year, I had a full day of celebrations with different set of friends and family at different locations and with different flavors–brunch with girlfriends in mid-town, a bit of shopping and semi-fancy Italian restaurant dinner with my family in Beverly Hill, closing down the evening with cocktails in Silverlake… I knew I was going to be running around town and wanted to be comfy and chic, so what did I reach out to?! Unexpectedly, the first pair of ripped mom jeans I have ever owned! Somehow to me high-waited jeans scream: “Pair me up with a bodysuit and you will have perfection!” So I listened and picket to partner my comfy pair of jeans with a black velvet bodysuit with rivet embellishment. It added a stylish twist to the look with its sophisticated velvet fabric, slash collar line, and small cutouts at the waist.
To finish the look off I added my favorite black belt, red pumps, embroidered leather moto jacket and a baker boy hat. The look make be feel comfortable and confident–what else can a birthday girl ask for? At least when it comes to her outfit? 😉
Tips: If you are pondering upon grabbing a pair of these jeans, you should consider sizing up. However, if your legs are on the stick-thin side you will be “A OK” going with your regular size as you don’t want the waist to be too loose. Same goes with the bodysuit–I recommend sizing up. I generally wear a small in tops. I ordered the medium from this bodysuit and I should have totally gone for the large.

What beautify did I receive?
My surprise arm candy is the Alisse Large Tote. And boy do I love her?!? She arrived in a beautiful packaging with a personalized note. The expert totally nailed my style! She is elegant, sophisticated, roomy, versatile and did I mention practical! What more can a girl want?! OK, yes, I forgot–color! This beautiful shade of brandy is so chic and would partner perfectly with a sheath dress for work or blue denim on a casual day out. The leather is so soft and detailed to perfection with the metallic accents. As a mama on the go, I always appreciate having a top zipper closure and short and long straps to utilize according to the occasion. Running after little feet and worrying about your bag is no fun, however this bag gives you the long strap so you can enjoy a hands-free option when you need it.
This week’s center stage is taken by the SHEIN Contrast Collar And Ruffle Cuff Tweed Dress. It is one of my new transitional pieces and I am sure I will be wearing it well into spring. This elegant dress drew me in with its fitted tweed silhouette, the ruffle detail bottom and those pretty sleeve and collar details adding tons of preppy chic. Somehow this piece has a school girls flavor mixed in with a taste of young professional.
The multi-color tweed fabric of this dress makes it suitable for accessories of many different colors. I opted for black over-the-knee boots and a black bag, but the same combination in brown would look great as well. To give the look a spring flavor you can pair the dress with white or cream booties, which would go perfectly with the collar and sleeve cuffs, and a bucket bag of the same color and voila–it is warmer weather appropriate! 🙂
Hope you all have a wonderful week! March is almost upon us!
Fashion tends to repeat itself, doesn’t it?! 30-40 years pass and we see the same trends show up. My auntie used to tell me this and I could not fathom it possible, but now I have lived enough and see that she was right indeed!! This week’s look is inspired by the high-waisted pants and in particular a plaid tapered version that caught my eye. It is funny to look back in time and remember laughing at mom’s jeans, thinking I would never wear such pants… Lo and behold, I sure am into those now–looking at my first pair of ripped mom jeans now and showing you this look whose main act is a pair of pants that sit right at my belly button!!
I saw the Plaid Tapered Pants With Strap and immediately thought: red booties, red top and a baker boy hat–chic, edgy and current with a twist of vintage! But these pants are so versatile that I decided to try two different looks, which can be achieved with a slight modification of accessories and a top to drive the ship either into a sophisticated or hip direction.
The sophisticated – for this look, I chose to pair the pants with the Elastic Trumpet Cuff Bow Tied Blouse. The femininity and elegance of this top compliments the preppy feel of the pants to create an urbane outfit! The burgundy color of the top is very suitable and pops even against the strong multi-color plaid pattern–almost like PB and J–made for one another! Add some red booties, red-framed glasses, your favorite red lip color and this look can easily take you from a day to work to happy hour with your colleagues!
The hip – bring on the “old school cool!” This pairing is exactly what emerged in my head as soon as I say the pants. “I had a vision!” To bring it to life I kept the pants and added the Contrast Half Zip Bow Tied Bodysuit in Wine Red and my favorite baker boy hat. This bodysuit is among the most comfortable ones I own. The fabric is a cotton-poly blend–super soft against your skin–always a plus in my books! I also love the vintage feel the bow tied collar, the white contrasting trim and half-zipper front detail bring. Doesn’t is all come together to bring a modish look?!
Which look is your favorite? I would love to hear below in the comments!
❤ Happy, happy Valentine’s day week! ❤ Whatever your relationship status may be, I hope cupid sits on your shoulder and you have a great time with the person/people you love! ❤
I decided to show you this look as it is not the traditional red dress, the lace beauty in pink or the sexy little black dress, but it spells elegant with an edge to me–perfect to make any girl feel confident or special for a Valentine’s or Galentine’s date. This outfit is very sentimental to me as it features a special item that has been in my family for three generations now. Can you guess which one it is?
The Half Buttoned Velvet Floral Bodysuit – where do I begin with this suit? The print is so unique and fresh. I love the flowers in dust pink and honey yellow with touches of Mediterranean blue and olive green. Those seem to pop, but in very gentle fashion, on the black velvet fabric. The wide sleeves with wide trim give this bodysuit a kimono feel and the v-neckline and small round-dome buttons on the front add to the dainty details that make this piece so charming and feminine. You can use code “LauraZF” on Zaful.com to receive 10% off your purchase!
The leather skirt – I have owned this skirt for at least a year now and absolutely adore styling it as it instantly adds edge an outfit. I love the zip detail on the pockets and the asymmetrical split at the front. The leather is soft and lined, making this skirt a pleasure to wear.
The booties – these have my name on it. I am a huge fan of pointy toes, kitten heels and soft colors–put these together and you have a winning bootie in my books. Those are super comfy which is a HUGE plus.
It’s the clutch – the sentimental piece, this clutch is very dear to my heart–it is the engagement present my grandpa made my grandma–how special is that. It is snakeskin and every detail is so eloquent and refined! “They don’t make them like this any more!” is a phrase fit for this situation! ❤
The sunglasses – every lady needs to looks trough these cute, round, pink shades. They are so charming and so girly–a great spring accessory! You can use code “LauraZF” on Zaful.com to receive 10% off your purchase!
Enjoy your celebration, lovelies!
Hope your week has been going well. Mine is a tad bit crazy at work–longer hours, so this girl is feeling a slightly tired. However, I did not want to miss the opportunity to share with you my latest cute find – the SHEIN Fringe Detail Tweed Overall Dress!
Tweed is a great fabric for winter, however this dress is so light that is would definitely make appearance in my spring outfits. I would wear it even during the summer, but I have to admit that it is a bit too short for me to feel comfortable wearing this cutie unless I am layering it over some leggings. I gravitated to this unique number, because it has the funnest black and white print that could pretty much fit anything and everything in your wardrobe. It looks amazing with a black top, but would also pear beautifully with a red or yellow one, even some black and white stripes would go hand in hand with this overall dress. I was also drawn to this tweed dress by its fringe details, which appear not just at the bottom and top hem, but also around the waist and pockets. Another charm of the dress is that you can wear the front in the back as vise versa–it makes sense in either direction! 😀 Oh, and did I mention it is under $15?!?
Have you jumped on the tween band wagon this winter? What tweed items have caught your eye?
Have a great weekend everyone!
How was your weekend? Did you get to do anything exciting?
I have been thinking about what sort of dresses I like to wear during the winter time and since Los Angeles winters are not as harsh, we have to keep our wardrobes suitable for temperatures in the high 50s F as well as those in the high 80s F. So today, I offer you a light and a heavy winter dress option.
The Heavy Weight – Cable-knit Turtleneck Sweater Dress – this beauty is SO warm it is sure to be the perfect partner for a snow storm or a freezing front moving your way. The material it is knit from is pretty thick and it also has the coziest turtleneck, which would keep you covered without the need to add a scarf. You can layer the dress over your leggings and undershirt, add OTK boots and a coat and you are ready to conquer a cold day in style. I also love the cable-skit patterns and this easy-to-fit-any-wardrobe mocha color. The day I wore the sweater dress was not super cold, so I was able to combine it with my boots and added a belt for some waist definition. This is a “one-size” item. I am 5’9 and it fits me well, but I had to close the side-slips as these were coming up a little too high on me, however if you are a bit shorter those would add some visual interest too!
The Light Weight – Marled Knit Cowl Neck Ribbed Pencil Dress – I had my eye on this dress for a couple of months and wondered whether it is thin or thick–now that I have it I can tell you that it it lighter and would be perfect for warmer winter days (accompanied with a coat, boots, and some tights), as well as most spring and fall days. I love how elegant the dress looks – it has a metallic streak running trough its knit, ribbed fabric and accentuates your curves with its fitted silhouette. The combination of a midi-length and cowl neck bring additional class to this garment. This past weekend was very warm, so I got to wear the dress with red pumps during the day and suede high boots in the evening.
Have you taken a look at the fun dresses ROMWE has to offer? Let me know if you do pick anything from their site–would love to see what caught your eye!
Happy Monday, Lovelies!
Hope your weekend was filled with relaxation, or adventures, better yet–both! It always passes super fast for me and I am glad we have the day off today, in celebration of MLK day, as I still have tons on my to-do list.
Since ❤ Valentine’s day ❤ is just around the corner, this week I decided to show you a “killer outfit” that is sure to “knock him dead” in the best way possible! It is sexy and classy, it is trendy and chic, an eye-catcher that would evoke the questions “who is she?” and the desire in girls to try out this look.
I decided on an all-black leather-rich outfit, with a pop or red in the shoes, bag and, of course, the lips. So what are the piece that bring this look to life?
The main act: Black 3/4 Sleeve Women’s Co-Ords – where do I begin with this leather two-piece?! I have to say I adore the cat-woman feel it gives. The skirt is so classy with its tea length, high waist and pencil silhouette! The leather material gives it that extra oomph I crave to add to any of my outfits. It also had a bow belt, which could be tied in the back, as I have done, or at the front, as the model on the web site has, which gives you options to play with and diversifies the looks you can create. Let’s not forget about the corset top of this co-ord!! It fits to perfection and adds an unexpected twist to the outfit, doesn’t it?! It has panels of leather and suede, a golden-colored zip enclosure, and funky black and white straps. This top adds to the edginess and coolness of the look! You can use the code Marieta941 at us.vip.com to get $5 OFF on orders over $50.
The supporting actor: Mesh Panel Faux Leather Jacket – this piece stole my heart away with its numerous beautiful details. Take a look at the scalloped neckline–isn’t is gorgeously unique!? And the mesh and leather sleeves add so much visual interest. But stay put, the amazing details do not stop at the front! The mesh detail and rounded edges are incorporated in the back of the jacket as well, where a gold plate accentuates a tighter waist to give you a slender figure. It is the perfect partner to the leather two-piece! You can use code LauraZF to receive 10% off this jacket and your ZAFUL order.
The supporting actress: Black Bell Sleeve Slim T-Shirt – you may remember this top from a few of my prior posts–it fits with so many different outfits as it is slender and does not steal the show, but rather adds to the charm of a look with its beautiful bell sleeves.
The cherry on top: well I guess it is more the two cherries on top:
(a) this awesome Baker Boy Hat – I have always been a fan of hats and this one is riding on the cusp of the newspaper boy hat fashion front. It fits perfectly, it made of cotton, and has the cutest feather brooch feature.
(b) the Full Rims Cat Eye Sunglasses – don’t know about you, but I always appreciate a good pair of sunglasses as my eyes are pretty sensitive and tend to tear, unless they are protected. This pair of cat eyes is not only fashion-forward, but also large enough to keep you well-guarded from the sun.
I hope I have inspired you to try something new this Valentine’s day and be the smart, classy and sexy woman your man fell in love with!
Christmas is literally round the corner and I seem to be super busy this week. The weekend flew by so fast that I could not even get my photo shooting done… Have you been running abound like a buzzzy bee?
This week I have partnered with Shein to bring you this super versatile knit two-piece. There are so may details of both the top and the bottom that I truly enjoy and guess what this set looks great together as well as in a combo with other pieces you already have in your wardrobe.
The top – it is knit and yet peplum, which gives one such a pretty line and waist definition. There is a little split at the bottom front which adds a unique feminine touch. The double V neckline is not super deep, so cold air is not going to rush in and make you feel the frost of winter. I have already worn this top as a stand alone sweater, with a pair of black jeans, a nice blush scarf and pointy toe boots!
The skirt – It is just the right midi length and also has a split, but in the back, so it makes the skirt easy to walk in, yet appropriate length for the office. I also am a fan of the fact that it is a pencil skirt as that is the silhouette I tend to gravitate to. You can combine this skirt with a knit black turtleneck sweater or a purple tie neck silk shirt and it would fit beautifully with either!
Overall perks – the grey color is neutral and pretty to combine with red, black, blue, white, purple, you name it! The material is super soft and comfy to wear, while being thick enough to keep you warm. The co-ord will give you a bang for your buck as you can wear the pieces together or as two separates, giving you endless possibilities for just $33!
Have you purchased a two-piece lately? I now own a few and have enjoyed their sheer versatility. Check out more two-piece ideas here.
Have a lovely week, ladies and gents and a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
